Community choirs made by - and for - their community!

Since 2007, we’ve been busy getting the good folks of Wiltshire singing!

In that time, we’ve grown our ranks to 150 members across the county.

We believe that singing is your birthright and that everybody (no matter what they were told at school) can sing. We’ll never ask you to sing on your own and we never use scores so you don’t have to read music. There are no auditions and all of our choirs learn the same material each term and, in normal circumstances perform, usually two or three times a year at local events in their own right or as part of the Wiltshire Wailers.

When we’re all together we become truly mighty - a choir of 100+ voices on big stages like the Wiltshire Music Centre (see picture above) .

Over the years we’ve hosted regular concerts, performed at festivals, sang carols in pubs and in the street, and joined with other choirs at huge charity events like Sing For Water. We’ve even been known to perform alongside touring artists including the likes of Luke Jackson and Charlie Dore and all become backing vocalists.

The Wiltshire Wailers have supported Sing for Water since 2009 and have attended massed sings in London, Bristol and Bath raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for WaterAid.

In our local area, we support Dorothy House Hospice and have organised fundraising concerts in 2018 and 2019 as well as collecting on their behalf when we’re carol singing - including our Carols for Carers socially distanced sing in 2020.

You don’t have to have any prior experience or knowledge to join our choirs. Remember there are no auditions, no solos and we never use scores. Many of our singers haven’t sung since school! All you need is a bit of enthusiasm and attitude, and you’ll fit right in.
